Choosing What Belongs in My Front Yard

I’ve thought of so many things since I decided to stay here. It’s funny how the mind wanders when you finally stop long enough to picture a life rooted in one place. I’ve gone back and forth—from moving to staying, from building proper garden beds to throwing together a quick bucket garden just to get something growing.

But the more I sat with it, the clearer it became: I don’t want a bucket garden. Not in my front yard. Not where it can seen by everyone.

There’s a difference between “functional” and “right,” and those buckets—no matter how practical—would be an eyesore.

So I’m choosing things that reflect that decision. Real garden beds. Real structure. Real intention. If I’m going to build a life here, I want it to look like a life I’m proud of every time I step outside.

Staying means investing. It means choosing beauty over convenience, even when the convenient option is faster. It means creating something that feels like home, not a placeholder.

And that’s exactly what I plan to do.
